Description:
The Law Offices of Timothy R. Loff is seeking an in-person only, part-time office manager/Administrative Assistant with paralegal experience or willing to learn basic paralegal skills. The practice is based in Newton and specializes in General Elder Law, primarily Estate Planning and Estate and Trust Administration. The office is fully computer integrated with some automation, but also involves a lot of direct client contact. Being able to work independently is important, as well as being nice, compassionate, and understanding of elder clients and their families. 
 
The position will be supporting the founding attorney with the management and development of the firm and tasks will vary. This is a part-time position with flexible hours of 20-30 hours per week. The firm is in a small, collegial building in Newton Four-Corners and has been in the same location for over 25 years. 
 
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·       Assisting in drafting documents such as Wills, Trusts, Petitions, MassHealth Applications, etc.;
·       Organizing and tracking client files;
·       Corresponding with clients via mail, phone, email and via secured portal; 
·       Processing client invoices and payments; 
·       Drafting, formatting, and editing legal documents as assigned;
·       E-filing of probate documents and E-Recording Registry of Deeds documents;
·       Communicating with potential clients and current clients to schedule appointments; witnessing document executions.  
·       Creating estate planning portfolios and summaries of documents. 
 
Qualifications:
Trustworthy, excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; detail-oriented with strong editing skills; good organizational abilities; experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with legal practice management software would be useful, although training provided. 
 
Compensation:
Paid hourly, negotiable based on experience. Will provide some paid personal time. No health insurance.
