The Law Offices of Timothy R. Loff is seeking a part-time Associate Attorney. The practice is based in Newton and specializes in Elder Law (Primarily MassHealth/Medicaid Applications), Estate Planning, and Probate with some Guardianship/Conservatorship work. With the right candidate this position will grow to full-time. 
 
The associate will be supporting the founding attorney with the management and development of the firm. The Associate will be responsible for their own caseload and providing support within the office on other cases. In addition to case review and oversight tasks, the attorney will draft probate and estate planning documents; correspond directly with clients; and assist with trainings and presentations. 
 
This is a part-time position in Newton, MA with flexible hours. As the Associate’s caseload increases so may the working hours grow into a full-time position. This position may require court appearances in various Probate and Family courts around Massachusetts.
 
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·       Managing caseload, which includes, but not limited to, cases in Estate Planning, Guardianships, Conservatorships, Probate Administration, MassHealth, and drafting documents such as Wills, Trusts, Petitions, MassHealth Applications, etc.;
·       After six (6) months, expectation of billing at least 15 hours per week;
·       Organizing and tracking client files;
·       Keeping track of time/billable hours;
·       Drafting, formatting, and editing legal documents as assigned;
·       Filings at various courts;
·       Legal research;
·       Attending networking events on behalf of firm/ability to bring cases into firm;
·       Assist with marketing (blog post drafting etc.);
·       Communicating with court personnel/scheduling departments; and
·       Must have a working vehicle and valid MA driver’s license.
 
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in MA, and in good standing with the MA bar; and must be trustworthy, possess excellent communication and outstanding interpersonal relationship skills, have a strong work ethic, good organization abilities; and strong research and legal writing capabilities.

Compensation: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
